Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men: The Last Stand. Will he do so in the
Wolverine Movie as well?

June 2, 2006:
- Outgoing Marvel Studios executive Avi Arad made
statements in a recent interview with iF Magazine that now cloud the
issue of whether or not the Wolverine movie will be a prequel. Arad
says "I don't want to call it a prequel nor a sequel. It
is Wolverine's story and it is really concentrating on him. It's about
his life, his mysteries, and his loves. It's not really a prequel or a
sequel. It's just a story like in the comics where we have X-Men,
Wolverine, and books dealing with the other X-Men. Obviously, Wolverine
is the number one X-man, and deserves his own story. Hugh Jackman will
make the story that much more compelling."
May 30, 2006:
- X-Men: The
Last Stand dominated the Memorial Day weekend box office in the
U.S. , outdoing even such blockbuster hits as The DaVinci Code. Initial
reports indicate that the film earned a whalloping $120 million in
ticket sales across North America in just 4 days. Will Wolvie's solo
debut generate as much audience interest? Does this mean that director Brett Ratner will stick
with the Marvel mutant franchise by directing the Wolverine Movie? Stay
tuned!
